Trip 4 - Sunday 30 December 2018 to Sunday 6 January 2019
Are you wanting to celebrate this new year in style? How about bringing in 2019 with sand between your toes and with a rum cocktail in your hand! Here is an overview of our New Year Caribbean sailing holiday, which includes the 10 incredible islands in St Vincent & The Grenadines. If you are travelling solo, as a couple or a small group come and enjoy a private cabin charter and get hands-on sailing practice and have a great time sailing and make new friends!

Meet Sam and Neil at 2 PM (14:00) in Blue Lagoon Marina, in St Vincent, and get settled onboard sailing yacht Nemo. The marina is approximately 25 minutes from Argyle International Airport. Once you are settled we will then have lunch and the guest briefing; after which we will head around the corner to Young Island our first mooring and the start of your holiday celebrations! If you have the energy, we would highly recommend a walk up 200+ steps on Fort Duvernette where you will get to see stunning views of the south of St Vincent and Bequia, and it is a good way to stretch your legs after a longish flight. Our first delicious dinner will be on Nemo.
This New Year’s Eve will see is us sail to beautiful Bequia, one of our favourite anchorages and the place to be in the Grenadines at New Year! We will celebrate in style with a fabulous dinner and New Year’s Eve party ashore. We will arrive in Bequia in time for lunch. This is then followed by an afternoon of relaxation on Nemo and ashore or a chance to dive the fish-filled tropical waters with Dive Bequia? Ashore you will find a wonderful boardwalk to wander along, a relaxed town with stalls you can visit and incredibly friendly locals. We will celebrate the new year coming in with a dinner ashore followed by lots of dancing and fireworks 🙂
Happy New Year and what a way to spend the first day of 2019! After a big restorative breakfast, we will be sailing to Salt Whistle Bay in Mayreau. This slightly longer sail will give you plenty of time to practice your helming skills if you so wish, or a chance to sit back and relax (maybe recover ;-)) and take in the stunning scenery! Salt Whistle is a wonderful palm treelined bay. Enjoy a snorkel or walk along the sandy beach, head out on the kayak, visit some of the local stalls or head across to the next bay and watch the kite surfers. We will have dinner on board Nemo.
We are sailing to paradise today – yippee! After a delicious breakfast, we will set off to the wonderful Tobago Cays Marine Reserve. Snorkelling in the turquoise waters is incredible, and hopefully, you will swim with Hawksbill Turtles as they munch on the seagrass in the anchorage. We can explore the local area in Dory the Dingy, or in the kayak and SUP and relax in paradise. Dinner will be on board Nemo.
After a morning dip and breakfast, we will sail to Union Island, the capital of The Grenadines. We will take a mooring in Clifton Harbour for lunch. After which you can snorkel off the back of the yacht around the stunning reef. We can also head to see Mr King on Happy Island and partake in a cheeky afternoon rum cocktail if you wish! We will sail to a teeny tiny sandbank called Mopion for the perfect deserted island photo, and then we will sail around to the stunning Chatham Bay for the evening and a tasty evening BBQ dinner ashore. This is great bay for snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. There are some great beach bars like Vanessa’s or pop to Aqua which has a beachside swimming pool you can relax in.
Today we will move into Grenadian waters and our first stop will be Sandy Island! This sandy bar is a great place for a snorkel and for taking pictures of yourself on a deserted island! After snorkeling, we will then have another short sail to Tyrell Bay, which is where we will spend the rest of the day relaxing and having fun. Head ashore to visit one (or some) of the rum shops and then join us back on Nemo for dinner.
We will sail down the west coast of Grenada, a truly luscious green island that provides a hint of spice in the wind. We will break up the trip with a stop at Ronde Island. Only inhabited by a few fishermen, this remote island is a perfect lunch stop and a great place to jump in for a snorkel. Our anchorage for the evening will be Molinere. This is an incredible underwater sculpture park and a great place to snorkel. After we will have a delicious final dinner on board Nemo.
After a last dip into the lovely warm waters, we will set sail to Port Louis Marina, Grenada. We will arrive in time for a noon (12 PM) departure from the marina.
