Meet Sam and Neil at 2 pm (14:00) at the Young Island dock on St Vincent and then we will head to sailing yacht Nemo. Once you are settled we will have a guest briefing and then a short downwind sail to Cumberland Bay, giving you the chance to take in the beautiful St Vincent coastline. This is one of our favourite anchorages with the most beautiful palm tree-lined black beach and we will get a lovely warm welcome from the boat boys who will help us tie up ashore to one of the palm trees! This is a great spot for a kayak or to try out the SUP. This wonderful anchorage will be the setting for our first delicious dinner on Nemo.
It is all about tacking practice today if you want to get hands-on, otherwise, sit back, relax and take it all in. After breakfast, we will set sail for Petit Nevis, just south of Bequia. This tiny island is a perfect spot for snorkelling and then lunch. After we will continue to the jet-set island of Mustique. Once we have grabbed a mooring ball you can relax onboard Nemo or play with the snorkels, kayak and paddleboard followed by cocktails and dinner ashore at the newly remodelled Basil’s or we can even pop to Firefly.
After breakfast, we will sail to Chatham Bay. This will be a longish downwind sail giving you plenty of chance to practice your helming skills and perhaps a gybe or two! We will sail past Canouan, Mayreau and onto Chatham Bay on Union Island. After a fabulous sail, there is nothing better than jumping into the clear waters here. This is a great bay for snorkelling, kayaking and paddleboarding. And there are some great beach bars like Vanessa’s. Dinner will be on Nemo.
After a morning dip and breakfast, we will sail to PSV. Yes, we have more beautiful islands in store for you today. First, we will to the picture-perfect tiny Mopion Island. Walk around the island (it takes 5 mins!) and swim in the warm pool-like waters. Then it will be a short hop to Petit St Vincent. This private island is as close to Grenada as we will get to on this sailing trip. Head ashore to enjoy some seriously fabulous cocktails at Goatie’s and then we will pop back to Nemo for dinner.
We will have a couple of shorter sails today. First stop will be Union Island, the capital of the Grenadines. We will take a mooring in Clifton Harbour and have a wander around this cute town. Then we will sail to Salt Whistle Bay or Saline Bay in Mayreau. Salt Whistle is picture-perfect. It is a wonderful palm tree-lined bay with heavenly white sand and turquoise waters. Enjoy a snorkel or walk along the beach, head out on the kayak, visit some of the local stalls or head across to the next bay and watch the kite surfers. Saline Bay is likewise stunning. There are only about 250 inhabitants on Mayreau and most live in Saline Bay. Pop into town and see the many rum shops and the most amazing views from the top of the islands of Tobago Cays. Dinner will be served on Nemo.
We are sailing to paradise today – yippee! After a delicious breakfast, we will set off to the beautiful Tobago Cays Marine Park. Snorkelling in the turquoise waters is incredible, and hopefully, you will swim with Hawksbill Turtles as they munch on the seagrass in the anchorage. We can explore the local area in Dory the Dingy or in the kayak and SUP. Or just sit back and relax in paradise. Dinner will be a beach BBQ prepared by Willy and Bets from Union Island.
We will have an all-day sail to Bequia, so plenty of time for lots of hands-on sailing experience. Bequia is one of the most beautiful islands in the Grenadines. We will arrive in the afternoon, giving you time to snorkel off the beautiful Princess Margaret Beach. Along the beach, there are lots of fabulous bars and there is also Bar One, Bequia’s floating bar, which we can try for cocktails and then we will have our final dinner back on board Nemo.
Our last morning will see us sail back across the Bequia Channel to Young Island Cust in St Vincent. This is a fun last sail and we will arrive in time for a 12:00 (noon) departure from the dock.
