Crewed Sailing Holiday in Grenada & The Grenadines
Trip 5 - Saturday 12 January to Saturday 19 January 2019
This is an example of our crewed sailing holiday itinerary. It sees us island hopping around the amazing Caribbean islands of Grenada, Carriacou, Sandy-, Union-, and Happy Island, as well as Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Mopion, Petit St Vincent and Ronde Island! Are you travelling solo, as a couple or a small group? If so, come and enjoy a private cabin charter, get hands-on sailing practice and have a great time sailing around the Caribbean.
Changes may take place due to guest requests and weather conditions. If you have any questions about any aspects of this trip, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meet Sam, Neil and your fellow guests at 2 PM (14:00) in Port Lois Marina, our arrival and departure point in Grenada – known as the Spice Island. The airport is approximately 25 minutes away in a taxi. Once you are settled on your cabin we will provide a guest briefing and then we will head straight out. Our first stop will be Molinere. This is an incredible underwater sculpture park and a great place to snorkel. After we will have a delicious dinner on board Nemo and kick-off the holiday in style!
After a sumptuous breakfast, we will head up the west coast of Grenada. A truly luscious green island that provides a hint of spice in the wind as we sail past. Neil will start showing you how to sail Nemo and if you like you can have a go on the helm or being crew. Our destination for the evening will be Tyrell Bay in Carriacou. Here we will have dinner ashore.
We will have a short sail to Sandy Island before breakfast. This sandy bar is a great place for a snorkel and for taking pictures on a deserted island! We will then have another short sail to Union Island for lunch and we can also head to see Mr King on Happy Island and partake in a cheeky afternoon cocktail if you so desire! After cocktails, we will have an hour sail to the beautiful Chatham Bay. We love this Bay as it is really great for snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding.
After breakfast, we will sail to Mayreau. We can stop in Windward Bay for lunch and then we will anchor in Salt Whistle Bay or Saline for the evening. Salt Whistle Bay is a wonderful coconut tree lined beach, fabulous for taking a stroll along and for checking out the kite surfers. Saline Bay gives you access to the main town on the island and stunning views over Tobago Cays, our destination for the next day. Our dinner this evening will be served on board Nemo.
Just a short hop away is the stunning Tobago Cays. We can take you out to visit some of the islands in Dory the Dinghy and there is some incredible snorkelling to be had. A highlight of the trip will hopefully be swimming with Hawksbill Turtles as they munch on the seagrass in the anchorage. For dinner, we will head to the beach for a local BBQ. Willy one of the local boat boys together with his cook, Bets, will create a delicious dinner for us.
After a morning playing with the water toys or simply relaxing on board Nemo, we will then sail to the teeny tiny Mopion sandbank where you can laze in the warm tropical waters. Our final destination today will be the tiny private island of Petit St Vincent. We can have sundowners at Goatie’s Beach Bar and then our evening meal on board Nemo.
Our last full day will be an all-day sail back to Grenada. On the way, we will stop at Ronde Island. Only inhabited by a few fishermen, this remote island is a perfect lunch stop and a great place to jump in for a snorkel. After lunch, we will then sail back down the coast of Grenada and anchor in Grand Anse for the evening.
This last morning can be used relaxing and jumping off the beautiful waters in and around Grand Anse, or we can pop over to Mourne Rouge Bay for a last short sail and snorkel. We will be back in Port Louis Marina for a noon departure.
