This is a great way for those of you travelling solo, as couples or small groups to enjoy a by-the-cabin charter. Meet Sam and Neil at 14:00 (2 PM) in Blue Lagoon Marina, in St Vincent, and get settled onboard sailing yacht Nemo. The marina is approximately 25 minutes from Argyle International Airport. Once you are settled we will have the guest briefing; after which we will head around the corner to Young Island, our first mooring and the start of your holiday! If you have enough energy, we would highly recommend a walk up 200+ steps on Fort Duvernette where you will get to see stunning views of the south of St Vincent and Bequia, and it is a good way to stretch your legs after a longish flight. Our first delicious dinner will be on Nemo.
After breakfast, we will sail around the south coast of St Vincent. Get the feel of Nemo on the helm if you like or simply take in the stunning scenery. We will med-moor in beautiful Cumberland Bay, with its black volcanic sand. Take a swim in the fresh fish-filled waters and then get ready for a spectacular sunset. We can head ashore to one of the beach bars for a sundowner if you so wish and then head back to Nemo for a scrumptious dinner.
It is all about tacking practice today (only if you want to get hands-on!). After breakfast, we will set sail for Petit Nevis, just south of Bequia. This tiny island is a perfect spot for snorkelling and then lunch. After we will continue our tacking practice up to the jet set island of Mustique. Once we have grabbed a mooring ball you can relax on board Nemo or play with the snorkels, kayak and paddleboard. Then enjoy an island tour followed by cocktails and dinner ashore at the newly remodelled Basil’s or we can even pop to Patrick’s at Firefly for dinner…the choice is yours.
We are sailing to paradise today – yippee! After a delicious breakfast, we will set off to the beautiful Tobago Cays Marine Reserve. This has been by far our previous guest’s favourite anchorage. This slightly longer sail will give you plenty of time to practice your helming skills if you so wish, or a chance to sit back and relax and take it all in. Snorkelling in the turquoise waters and along the amazing horseshoe reef is a must, and hopefully, you will swim with Hawksbill Turtles as they munch on the sea grass in the anchorage. We can explore the area in Dory the Dingy, the kayak and SUP or just relax on Nemo. We will have dinner on Nemo tonight.
After some more snorkelling and breakfast, will head to Salt Whistle Bay in Mayreau. This bay is picture perfect. It is a wonderful palm tree-lined bay with heavenly white sand and turquoise waters. Enjoy a snorkel or walk along the beach, head out on the kayak, visit some of the local stalls or head across to the next bay and watch the kite surfers. After cocktails at the fabulous ‘Last Bar Before The Jungle!’ we have a delicious beach BBQ. And it is lobster season….yum, yum, yum!
Yes, we have more beautiful islands in store for you today. First, we will to the picture perfect tiny Mopion Island. Walk around the island (it takes 5 mins!) and swim in the warm pool like waters. Then it will be a short hop to Petit St Vincent. This private island is as close to Grenada as we will get to on this sailing trip. Head ashore to enjoy some seriously fabulous cocktails at Goatie’s and then we will pop back to Nemo for dinner.
After a morning dip and breakfast, we will sail to Union Island, the capital of The Grenadines. We will anchor in Clifton Harbour for lunch giving you a chance to wander around this very picturesque town. We can also head to see Mr King on Happy Island and partake in a cheeky afternoon rum cocktail if you wish! Then we will sail around to Chatham Bay for the evening and a tasty evening meal on board Nemo. This is another one of our favourite bays for snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. There are some great beach bars like Vanessa’s we can pop to for a sundowner if you wish, then back to Nemo for dinner.
Each of the islands has so much to offer and so today we will be heading back to Mayreau. First stop will be Windward Bay, a perfect place for more snorkelling and lunch. Then we will head to our evening anchorage in Saline Bay. There are only about 250 inhabitants on this Island and most live in Saline Bay. Pop into town and see the many rum shops and the most amazing views from the top of the island of Tobago Cays. Dinner will be served on Nemo.
A longer sail today as we head for Bequia, another one of our favourite anchorages. We will lunch underway and arrive in the afternoon. Ashore you will find a wonderful boardwalk to wander along, a relaxed town with stalls you can visit and incredibly friendly locals. We will also head ashore for cocktails and have our final dinner at one of the many fabulous restaurants, such as The Fig Tree or Macs.
Our last morning will see us sail to the Blue Lagoon Marina in St Vincent. We will arrive in time for a noon (12 PM) departure from the marina.
