Meet Sam, Neil and your fellow guests at 15:00 (3 PM) in Deshaies in Guadeloupe. This lovely sleepy fishing village is also home to some great restaurants. Once you are settled into your private cabin we will have a guest briefing. Then we will make our way into town on Dory the Dinghy so we can check out the Pelicans that love the fishing in the bay and enjoy the local atmosphere with a sundowner overlooking the little beach. Then dinner is back on Nemo with our first dinner under the stars!
An all-day sail to the beautiful archipelago of Îles de Saintes today, where we will anchor in Terre-de-Haut. This will be a fun day of coastal sailing. Time permitting we will stop at Pigeon Island for lunch, and a chance to snorkel at the famous Jacques Cousteau Underwater Reserve. We will arrive in time for sundowners and dinner on board Nemo.
This morning we will have time to explore The Saintes. Jump on a scooter and choose one of the amazing beaches such as Pompierre, or perhaps Fort Napoleon for a little bit of history. Îles de Saints has many amazing beaches, so we will have a change of scenery and anchor at one of the beaches near Pain à Sucre for lunch before dinner ashore at one of the many seafront restaurants.
After a delicious breakfast, we will head for Marie Galante. This is a quiet island with beautiful golden beaches enclosed by world-class coral reefs, which is why it is so appealing! Our first stop on the island will be St Louis anchorage on the North West of the island. Once we arrive, soak up some rays, jump in the water with the snorkel or try out the kayak and SUP. We will have dinner on Nemo.
After breakfast and perhaps a morning swim, we will move down the coast to Grand Bourg which will give us the chance to spend the day exploring islands historic sugar mills and of course it would be remiss not to visit one of the two rum factories on the island. After we can head back to Nemo for a swim and sundowners before another yummy dinner on board Nemo.
This morning we will make our way to Dominica and Prince Rupert Bay in Portsmouth. By now you will be comfortable helming Nemo and will be able to enjoy the stunningly green and lush island that is Dominica as we sail down her coast. In the afternoon, read a book in the hammock, soak up some sunshine or have a go on the kayak or paddleboard, it is entirely up to you. Or we highly recommend you take an afternoon tour up the mystical Indian River, it is a real treat. After the tour, we will head back to Nemo for dinner on board.
After breakfast, we will set sail for Mero. Here we will have lunch and for anyone who likes snorkelling, we suggest a trip to the Champagne Reef for some snorkelling in the bubbles. After lunch, we will sail to Roseau. We will have time for a quick wander around the town before heading back to Nemo and a yummy BBQ dinner on board.
From Roseau, we will have our final inter-island sail to St. Pierre, the former economic capital of Martinique, which was destroyed by the Montagne Pelée eruption in 1902. This is a spectacular anchorage with Mt Pelée in the background. Ashore you will find a lovely town with a market and some ruins to explore. We will anchor here for the night and have dinner on board.
In the morning we have an opportunity to relax on board, head to one of the many Rum factories for a tour or go snorkelling, kayaking or paddle boarding. In the afternoon we will sail just south of Fort du France to the Les Anses D’Artlet, a stunning little village, where we will have dinner ashore.
A relaxing last morning swimming and snorkelling and then we will sail into Fort du France for departures at noon (12 PM) for the airport. The airport is approximately 15 minutes in a taxi.
